Otra pieza de coleccionista la que nos sirve el sello RHINO, especializado en todo este tipo de recopilatorios exquisitamente presentados. En este caso, A life less lived, es una caja envuelta en un corpiño de cuero y acompañada de un completísimo libro de 60 páginas que incluye la historia y evolución de uno de los géneros musicales más interesantes (el GOTHIC ROCK) junto a un triple CD y 1 DVD con una muy buena selección de grupos y de temas. Un caprichito que realmente merece la pena.

Interesante recopilatorio que navega por la escena Post-Punk estadounidense, más concretamente bostoniana, y centrada sobre todo en las bandas que tocaron en el legendario local de aquella ciudad "Underground Club" durante los años 1979-1982. El sonido, como es lógico, de casi todas las bandas está basado en lo que les llegaba desde el otro lado del Atlántico, por lo que las influencias de los primeros The Cure, Joy Division o Gang Of Four son más que evidentes. Buen libreto con abundantes fotografías e información sobre una escena desconocida en nuestro país, sobre todo porque la mayoría de los temas no han sido nunca editados hasta la fecha.
