For the FIRST TIME EVER on Vinyl! Limited Edition of 333 copies on Turquoise BLUE

Vinyl The Californian duo FOREVER GREY has been releasing their music continuously since 2015, initially digitally and on Cassettes only. Since 2020, Young & Cold Records has been working hard to finally bring the entire catalogue to Europe on vinyl.

The release of the 2016 debut Cassette "Autumn Calling" now fills a gap that previously existed in vinyl fans' collections. The seven songs of "Autumn Calling" show the origins of Forever Grey, which still sound pretty much as the band's name promises. Minimal sounds, composed of simple drum machine rhythms, floating keyboard sounds, accentuated guitar and driving bass lines. In addition somewhat shy gravey vocals.

In short: atmospheric Darkwave, which has its roots on the one hand in album classics like The Cure's "Faith" and Joy Division's "Closer", but on the other hand also in the French Coldwave from the mid-80s. It also reminds of some releases from the early 90s darkwave-tape-scene, such as by the Germans Ice Age and New Dawn Fades or Alan Woxx from France After the morbid songs of the A-side, with "The Red Hall" it even goes in the direction of Goth- rock, the B-side surprises with more diverse sounds and, as especially in "Blanket of Ice", a more electronic orientation overall. "She said burn" even has a pretty dark experimental sound.
