Born from the salt-laced air of Coquimbo, Chile, Seatemples emerged in 2014, a band bound by the push and pull of post-punk’s somber depths and shoegaze’s shimmering expanse. Their sound is an intricate balance…brooding yet celestial, raw yet refined…a fusion where gothic rock’s duskier corners meet the reverb-laden waves of dreampop. At the helm are Patricio Zenteno and Priscila Ugalde, their dual vocals entwining like mist and moonlight, drifting between Spanish and English, guiding listeners through elegiac echoes of the past and the restless hush of the present.

With two full-length records: Down Memory Lane (2017) and Trópicos (2020), the band honed their ability to envelop, enrapture, and unsettle. Their latest offering, Los Templos Marinos, refines their place in the gothgaze movement, a hypnotic spiritual crossroads where Type O Negative broods, Catherine Wheel soars, and Lycia lingers like a ghostly murmur in the echoes of their sound.

Their latest single, the Spanish language La Oscuridad del Llano, plunges into cavernous atmospherics, basslines that prowl in the dim light, and vocals that summon specters from the edge of memory. Its accompanying video, produced by Alpha Zentauri Productions, renders a chiaroscuro fever dream, interweaving live footage, the spectral presence of Chilean dark dancer Ivonne Velásquez, and the solemn hush of the local cemetery.
