Inanis Yoake is back after a two-year hiatus with their third album, Shallow Mist. This time, Simone Skeleton and Risa Hara, who composed and recorded all the songs, showcase a blend of post-punk, darkwave, and synthwave. Guest vocalists Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus) and Michael Aliani (Chiron, former Ikon) can be heard on three tracks.
Inanis Yoake was formed by Simone Skeleton and Risa Hara in London in 2020, and Shallow Mist is their third album. Their constant evolution and experimental approach make the 12 tracks on this record some of the best in their discography so far. A dark and sinister thread weaves through every chapter of the album, guiding listeners on an introspective journey with the duo.
Simone Skeleton and Risa Hara, who composed and performed all the songs - including vocals, lyrics, synths, piano, drums, strings arrangements, and music - craft a captivating blend of Post-Punk, Darkwave, and Synthwave. Their experimentation knows no boundaries, as showcased in the closing track “Down Here”, which incorporates elements of noise rock and psychedelic folk - one of their darkest songs, alongside tracks like “I’ve done Everything I can”, “The Dismal Sea” and the title track – all infused with electro-industrial vibes.
